Debugging a Stuck XR

Symptoms

• kubectl get <xr> shows SYNCED: False or READY: False
• The claim is waiting for the composite resource to become ready

Steps

1. Describe the claim:

kubectl describe <claim-kind> <name> -n <namespace>

1. Describe the XR:

kubectl describe <xr-kind> <name>

1. Check events:

kubectl get events --field-selector involvedObject.name=<xr-name>

1. Common causes:
2. Missing Composition Function (function-patch-and-transform not healthy)
3. Missing provider CRDs
4. Invalid patch paths in Composition

5. Missing secrets referenced by ExternalSecret

6. Render locally:

cd packages/<product>
npm run validate
